Wilhelmine R. Gilmeister Parents: Johann Heinrich Gilmeister & Maria Sophia Fahs Birthdate: January 29, 1871 Scranton, Pennsylvania. Died September 22, 1935 Augustus Heins Hermann Jonas Parents: Augustus Jonas & Friedericka Fischer Birthdate: November 27 1867, Wallmow, Brandenburg, Prussia. Augustus Jonas was the second eldest of nine children born to Augustus Jonas Sr. and Friedericka Fischer. Augustus Sr. & Friedericka were born and married in Wallmow, Brandenburg Prussia and had four children in Prussia before emigrating to the United States in 1873. They traveled aboard the ship Cimbria. They settled in the town of Wilson, NY on the southern borderof Lake Ontario. The children of August and Minnie, Mabel, Elmer, and Florence, were the first generation to have the Jonas fmily name Americanized to Jones. August Jonas died May 9, 1952. |
